Below are some common questions about Fibergrate decking.
Can Fibergrate cut your panels to size?
Yes, we can. In fact, we can provide approval drawings should your project require we do so. Please keep in mind that there is extra cost for both.
What type of saw blades should we use?
You can use standard woodworking tools such as a circular saw or angle grinder. You just need to use a diamond tip or masonry tip blade. See the Fabrication Guide.
How much do the panels weigh?
1” Depth MicroMesh is 161 #’s and the 1.5” Depth is 210 #’s.
How many hold-down clips are required?
We recommend a hold down clip for every 24” on center.
How far apart should you set your stringers?
1” Depth every 24” and 1.5” every 36” or less. This is for pedestrian traffic.
Are your products bare-foot friendly?
Our products have a fine AquaGrit applied which is bare-foot friendly. In fact, the major Amusement park such as Disney, Universal, and Seaworld use our materials in heavy foot traffic areas.
Are your products designed for Public Access Areas?
Our MicroMesh, EcoGrate, and AquaGrate meet ADA Guidelines.
Which products are Storm Surge Friendly, Meet Army Corps Guidelines and are ADA Compliant?
Both our MicroMesh and EcoGrate meet all of the above guidelines.
Are your molded decking products time proven?
We have our molded decking on off-shore oil rigs for over 50 years now. Time-proven, low maintenance, and low installation costs.
